Wall Street opened higher on Friday as the dollar fell, giving a boost to commodities, while data showed personal income rose in April.

The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> was up 38.90 points, or 0.31 percent, at 12,441.66. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> was up 4.04 points, or 0.30 percent, at 1,329.73. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> was up 7.63 points, or 0.27 percent, at 2,790.55.
