Wall Street opens up after mixed data
Stocks rose at the open on Friday, with the S&P 500 on track for a fourth straight day of gains as modest durable goods and consumer spending data was not enough to dampen optimism the U.S. recovery remained on track.
The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> was up 32.92 points, or 0.27 percent, at 12,202.57. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> rose 3.85 points, or 0.31 percent, at 1,257.85. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> added 7.04 points, or 0.27 percent, at 2,606.49.
