Wall Street fell at the open on Monday as euro zone leaders sought to resolve the sovereign debt crisis, with the arrest of the IMF's chief over the weekend increasing jitters.

The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> dropped 52.15 points, or 0.41 percent, to 12,543.60. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> dropped 5.88 points, or 0.44 percent, to 1,331.89. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> dropped 16.71 points, or 0.59 percent, to 2,811.76.
