Wall Street fell at the open on Wednesday, taking a cue from a decline in global markets, as investors found little reason to propel stocks higher as the market's solid year draws to a close.

The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> was down 33.32 points, or 0.32 percent, at 10,512.09. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> dropped 3.52 points, or 0.31 percent, at 1,122.68. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> dipped 5.46 points, or 0.24 percent, at 2,282.94.
