U.S. stocks opened slightly higher on Tuesday as a report showed home prices rose in January for the eighth-straight month, while corporate news, including about Apple Inc, supported early gains.

The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> was up 12.46 points, or 0.11 percent, at 10,908.32. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> was up 0.97 points, or 0.08 percent, at 1,174.19. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> was up 3.44 points, or 0.14 percent, at 2,407.80.
