Wall Street stocks rose at the open on Monday after a steep market decline last week as plans emerged to ease Europe's debt crisis, potentially offsetting geopolitical concerns after the death of North Korea's leader.

The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> gained 28.91 points, or 0.24 percent, to 11,895.30. The S&P 500 <.SPX> rose 2.82 points, or 0.23 percent, to 1,222.48. The Nasdaq Composite <.IXIC> added 10.92 points, or 0.43 percent, to 2,566.25.
