Wal-Mart Stores Inc's online division said on Tuesday that it is now selling a wide range of personal care items, including diapers, vitamins and over-the-counter medication, for home delivery.

The announcement comes a little more than a year after Walmart.com began allowing visitors to its website to browse some of the groceries and health and beauty products that the giant discounter sells in its stores.

But instead of being able to buy the items online, Walmart.com browsers were only able to check to see whether the products were in stock at a store near them.

Now, Walmart.com said visitors to its site can purchase thousands of health and beauty products, including Neutrogena, Pampers, L'Oreal, Colgate, Pantene and Gillette branded items.

A Walmart.com spokesman said the retailer continues to evaluate its assortment to determine how it may expand its selection, but at this time it is not offering home delivery of groceries.
