An off-duty New York Police Department (NYPD) officer, Amanda Villafane, 30, has been suspended without pay after a video showed her aggression towards a chocolate shop employee when he told her that the shop was closing for the day and that she will have to leave.

Villafane went to the Godiva Store in Stamford Town Center, Connecticut, with her mother and boyfriend Christopher Salvadore, 32, around 6 p.m. on Sunday.

The video was shot by the 18-year-old Ralph Jimenez whose sister works in the shop. In the video, the officer can be heard making a comment about how can a store be closed when the door is open. She then took off her jacket and started yelling at the store employees. The video also shows her threatening an employee at the store saying: “I will knock you the f*** out.”

Salvadore initially seemed to be trying to hold the officer back. According to Jimenez, Salvadore allegedly punched him when the 32-year old saw him making a video.

According to the New York Post, Stamford Police Sgt Brian Butler said: “They were told the store was closing and they were not happy with that answer.” He told the newspaper that the store’s floor was covered in blood and chocolate.

Butler said that she flashed her NYPD badge, once the police were called and started fighting with the police as well. “When they went to arrest her she didn’t want to cooperate so they had to take her to the ground and cuff her,” Butler said according to a report in Daily Mail.

According to various reports, Villafane, an officer in the NYPD since Oct. 2015 has been charged with criminal trespassing, unruly conduct, threatening and interfering with police. Her boyfriend, Salvadore has also been charged with assault and disorderly conduct.
