Mark Zuckerberg has been in Cambridge, Mass., for the past few days, visiting Harvard University, the school from which he dropped out to launchFacebook. Zuckerberg attended the university for two years and studied computer science and psychology. He dropped out in 2002 before he could graduate, so he doesn't have a degree despite being a successful social media and tech entrepreneur.

Thursday afternoon Zuckerberg will be given an honorary degree from the university, and he'll impart wisdom to the class of 2017 in his commencement address.

Zuckerberg returned to the university earlier this week with wife Priscilla Chan, a pediatrician and Harvard grad. The two took a tour Tuesday of Zuckerberg's old room in Kirkland House where Facebook came to be and live streamed it on his Facebook page, of course. They showed viewers where he coded the social media sensation and reminisced about old times spent at the Ivy League school. It's been 13 years since he last visited his old dorm room. "This has been a place where a lot of really special things happened in my life and I'm really grateful to this place," he said during Tuesday's stream.

He also teased his Thursday commencement address to his viewers. "I've been working on this for a while. It's pretty personally meaningful to me to actually finally get a degree from here and I promise it means even more to my parents, who really wanted me to graduate. This may be the thing that they're gonna be most proud of me for," Zuckerberg joked to wrap up the live stream.

His parents finally got to see him cap and gown clad on Thursday morning. Zuckerberg posted a photo of himself with his parents and his Harvard degree posing with his parents, smiles on all three faces and degree in hand. He captioned the photo with "Mom, I always told you I'd come back and get my degree."

The commencement address is scheduled to begin a little after 3 p.m. EDT. Zuckerberg will live stream it on his Facebook page and Harvard will have a live stream as well.

Zuckerberg was ready Thursday morning. Harvard University posted a photo on Instagram (one of Zuckerberg's companies) of Zuckerberg and the university's president.

Around noon the graduates were making their way to their seats to get settled in for the upcoming ceremony despite clouds and rain. The hosts of the live stream were interviewing graduating seniors and discussing the ceremony to come that would mark the conferral of degrees.
