Wayward Pines
The town teacher, Mrs. Fisher (Hope Davis), will be introduced in episode 4 of "Wayward Pines" Season 1. Fox

Three episodes into Fox’s enigmatic “Wayward Pines,” Ethan Burke (Matt Dillon) and his family might have to face the likelihood that they won't be getting out of the mysterious town anytime soon. For Ethan’s son, Ben (Charlie Tahan), adjusting to life in Wayward Pines means enrolling in the local school. Now a sneak peek video from episode 4, “One of Our Senior Realtors Has Chosen to Retire,” gives fans a preview of Ben’s first day with the town’s not-quite-normal schoolteacher.

In the two-minute video, Wayward Pines' creepy teacher, Mrs. Fisher (Hope Davis), grills her new pupil with a series of seemingly redundant questions – “Where are you from,” “Where do you live,” and “Where is home?” Ben answers every question with Seattle, the city where he lived with his family when the series began, but Mrs. Fisher seems to be digging for a different kind of answer. Then, she questions the Burkes’ reason for being in Wayward Pines, planting seeds of doubt in Ben about his parents.

Elsewhere in Wayward Pines, the synopsis for episode 4 reveals that Ben’s parents will have their own adjustments to make in the town. Ethan will be offered a leadership role in Wayward on the heels of Sheriff Pope’s (Terrence Howard) “retirement.” Will Ethan be Pope’s replacement? Meanwhile, Theresa (Shannyn Sossamon) will get a job offer as a realtor under suspicious circumstances.

How will Ben fare in his first day in Wayward Pines’ school? And what are his suspicious teacher’s motives? Fans will have to wait to find out. “Wayward Pines” airs Thursdays at 10 p.m. EDT on Fox.
