“America’s Got Talent” recently taped its “Holiday Special,” which will air on NBC on Thursday, Dec. 29.

The star-studded event will feature performances from “America’s Got Talent” Season 11 winner Grace Vanderwaal, as well as her fellow contestants Sal Valentinetti, Brian Justin Crum, Jon Dorenbos and more. Other special guests include Olate Dogs and Penn & Teller. “America’s Got Talent” judge Heidi Klum also performed with Valentinetti. The duo sang “Santa Baby.”

During the shooting of the holiday special, the supermodel tripped on something, but she immediately got back up without missing a beat. In fact, her fellow judges, Simon Cowell, Mel B and Howie Mandel, gave her a standing ovation after her performance.

After majority of the performances from the holiday special, “America’s Got Talent” host Nick Cannon announced that he will be back next season. He also confirmed that Cowell will be returning as a judge in Season 12 and will be joined by the same panelists.

“America’s Got Talent” Season 12 will follow the same format as the previous seasons of the hit NBC reality TV show. A number of acts will be auditioning in front of the judges. Each of the four judges will have the chance to give a golden buzzer to their act of choice. Whoever receives the golden buzzer will automatically advance to the live shows.

Last season, Vanderwaal received a golden buzzer from Mandel. She immediately advanced to the live quarterfinals with her song, “Beautiful Thing.” A few weeks later, she made it through to the semifinals, where she performed “Light the Sky.” On finale night, Vanderwaal performed “Clay.” All four songs, including “Gossip Girl,” are part of her EP, “Perfectly Imperfect.”

“America’s Got Talent” Season 12 will premiere on NBC in May 2017.
