‘The Exorcist’
Will Father Tomas (Alfonso Herrera) and Father Marcus (Ben Daniels) be able to save Andy (John Cho) from the devil in “The Exorcist” Season 2, episode 8? Fox

“The Exorcist” Season 2 did not release a new episode this week due to Thanksgiving Day celebrations.

This means that episode 8, titled “A Heaven of Hell,” will air on Friday, Dec. 1. Fox already dropped the official synopsis for the upcoming installment.

“As Father Bennett and Mouse head west to rendezvous with Marcus and Tomas, new details about Mouse’s tragic past comes to light. With time running out to finish the exorcism, one of the foster children is faced with a difficult choice. But the demon has other plans,” it read.

In the promo released by the network, Rose (Li Jun Li) and Verity (Brianna Hildebrand) are surprised to see that Andy (John Cho) has been targeted by the devil. Father Tomas (Alfonso Herrera) and Father Marcus (Ben Daniels) try to perform exorcism on him, but the demon inside Andy seems to be stronger.

Rose tells the exorcists that Andy might calm down when he sees any one of his foster children. But when he sees Verity, nothing changes. In fact, the demon inside Andy’s body becomes angrier.

Elsewhere in the clip, Father Tomas also comes face to face with another exorcism victim. While attending to Andy, Father Tomas turns his back and sees that the other victim is about to attack him.

Meanwhile, the fate of “The Exorcist” remains to be unknown. Even though it’s still early to confirm whether or not the series will be renewed for a third season, fans are already hopeful that it would. Season 2 was renewed months after Season 1 wrapped up, and rumors already swirled at that time that the series will be cancelled. But in May, Fox announced the renewal of the horror-drama, according to Deadline.

Executive producer Jeremy Slater also confirmed at that time that Season 2 will be entirely different from Season 1 because new characters will be introduced. If Season 3 will receive a go from the network, the upcoming episodes will also introduce new characters and storylines next year.

“The Exorcist” Season 2 airs Fridays at 9 p.m. EST on Fox.
