Schweddy Balls, a vanilla icecream with a dash of rum, is named after the Saturday Night Live skit in which host Alec Baldwin plays Pete Schweddy, owner of a holiday bakery called Season's Eatings. Molly Shannon and Ana Gasteyer play NPR radio hosts interviewing him for a culinary show, during which Schweddy says, There are lots of great treats this time of year. Zucchini bread. Fruitcake. But the thing I most like to bring out at this time of the year are my balls. After hanging on to the pun jokes for a while, talking about popcorn balls, cheese balls, rum balls, Baldwin declares No one can resist my Schweddy Balls.
