Friday would have been the 50th birthday of the legendary singer Whitney Houston. The musical icon died Feb. 11 of last year, but her memory lives on in songs, music videos and the hearts of artists across all genres of music. A number of celebrities took to their Twitter accounts to pay tribute to Nippy Friday. We’ve rounded up just a few of their many heartwarming tweets below.

Beyonce joined in the celebration of Houston as well, posting an image of the iconic singer on her Facebook page with a touching message: “Happy 50th Whitney! Forever in our hearts.”

Sirius XM Radio is broadcasting a daylong special in memory of Houston, the satellite-radio service said in a press release. “Celebration of a Lifetime: Whitney Houston’s 50th” began Friday at 9 a.m. EDT will end Saturday at 3 a.m. EDT. The special encompasses songs from Houston’s career, as well as special memories of Houston’s family and close friends, including Cissy Houston, Dionne Warwick and Clive Davis.
