It’s been an upsetting week for country singer Blake Shelton and his soon-to-be ex-wife Miranda Lambert. Following their joint announcement that they’re getting a divorce, rumors are circulating that the catalyst for the split was allegedly an extramarital affair between Lambert and country singer Chris Young.

According to TMZ, Shelton filed for divorce after some suspicions about his wife’s fidelity came to a boiling point. Although the outlet notes that Young wasn’t the straw that broke the camel’s back, the site claims that the country singer had a tryst with Lambert in 2012 while he was opening for her tour. The two have reportedly been spotted together in public since. With his name now dragged through the mud that is the Shelton and Lambert divorce, many may be wondering who Chris Young is and how he found himself in the middle of all this.

Young first rose to fame in 2006 when he won the fourth season of USA Network’s popular reality singing competition “Nashville Star.” This earned him a recording contract with RCA Records. The studio has helped him crank out his six number one singles: “Gettin’ You Home,” “The Man I Want To Be,” “Voices,” “Tomorrow,” “You” and “Who I Am With You.” He’s been nominated for a GRAMMY award and won two American Country Awards and one CMT Music Award. In addition, CMT notes he’s been named one of country music’s sexiest men by People and Country Weekly magazines. The country singer also devotes a great deal of his time to various charities including Little Kids Rock, Stars for Stripes and St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
