UPDATE 5:30 p.m. EDT: This story has been updated to reflect conflicting statements about Petty's condition.

After going into cardiac arrest Sunday, singer-songwriter Tom Petty on Monday was reportedly pulled off life support after he was found to have no brain activity upon arriving at the UCLA Santa Monica Hospital in Santa Monica, California, TMZ reported Monday. The gossip site later reported that Petty was “not expected to live throughout the day, but he's still clinging to life.”

Petty is married to Dana York. Petty and York met after a show in Texas and were wedded a decade later, Billboard reported in 2014. York toured with Petty’s band and reportedly helped the musician manage his schedule.

Petty and York, his second wife, were married June 3, 2001 in Las Vegas, according to Rolling Stone at the time. The two exchanged vows before a small gathering of friends and family in a “low-key” ceremony following two sold-out shows the musician and his band the Heartbreakers played at the Hard Rock Hotel in the days preceding. Their wedding attendees later celebrated the union at Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse in Las Vegas.

“The happy couple will not be taking an extended honeymoon, unless you count the second leg of Petty's tour, which kicks off on June 27th in Scranton, Pennsylvania,” Rolling Stone reported.

Petty had previously told Rolling Stone in 2016 that he believed the band’s 40th anniversary tour would be their last.

“I'm thinking it may be the last trip around the country,” Petty said in December last year. “It's very likely we'll keep playing, but will we take on 50 shows in one tour? I don't think so. I'd be lying if I didn't say I was thinking this might be the last big one. We're all on the backside of our sixties. I have a granddaughter now I'd like to see as much as I can. I don't want to spend my life on the road.”

Petty had previously been married to Jane Benyo from 1974-1996. The famed rock star has two adult daughters from his first marriage, artist Kimberly Violette Petty and filmmaker Adria Petty. He has a stepson, Dylan, who was York’s son from a previous marriage.
