The World Health Organization has volunteered to spearhead an independent study about the rise of birth deformities in Fallujah.

The first problem was exposed by Sky News about two years ago where babies, like Fatima Ahmed, was born with two heads.

In May 2008, her mother pleaded for help in order to search for answers about the situation of her child.

Since then, rate of birth deformities around the country has increased with doctors confessing to us that they see birth deformity cases almost everyday.

Over the months, Sky News has disclosed a catalogue of case studies which includes babies born with missing limbs, abnormal abdomens and all sorts of congenital abnormalities.

Now the WHO - which currently examines women's health in Iraq- has pledged to carry out the study about this alarming issue.
