Meet Shelby Mitchusson, the sign language interpreter whose American Sign Language (ASL) version of Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” went viral Thursday. The video was posted on Sept. 3, 2014 but gained traction after it became a top-trending topic on Facebook more than eight months after it first appeared.

With nearly 150,000 YouTube views, Mitchusson’s interpretation of the song is awe-inspiring. When there aren’t any words, she sways back and forth in time with the music and “plays” piano until Eminem, aka Marshall Mathers, begins to rap. Her rhythm and passionate facial expressions have helped make the video a hit.

She gives a very simple description for the video: “I do not own the rights to this song. This video is for ASL interpreting purposes only” and “All music rights reserved: Eminem.”

Mitchusson, whose YouTube user name is ShelbyKvety, only has three videos uploaded to her account, but she plans to add more. She updated her fans about the status of her impending ASL interpretations three weeks ago.

“Hey, everyone. So sorry it has taken me awhile to comment back, I still am figuring out YouTube haha! -- thank you all for your feedback & support. :) I have been very busy in my personal life but I am going to upload more videos soon,” she wrote. “I have a deep love for interpreting music and would love to share more as I am always interpreting music. As always your feedback is wanted (Deaf people/ASL users/ASL Interpreters)! Again, thank you all - I'll upload more soon.”

Judging from the more than 350 comments, most people found the video inspiring and beautiful. “She's great rapping with her hands and her attitude and her heart and her soul,” one person said. “It's like she's verbally dancing,” another added.

Check out her version of “Lose Yourself,” which has been posted below:
