Princess Charlotte's first birthday is on May 2, and the royal family is celebrating by releasing a few new photos of the youngest member. The toddler wasn’t photographed by just anyone, though. Someone special took these snapshots.

The Kensington Palace Twitter revealed that Kate Middleton took the pictures of her daughter last month. Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, also took the pictures of Charlotte that were released in November, as well as photos of Charlotte and George together last June. It seems Prince William and Kate would rather not bring in a professional; and with the way these photos look, it doesn’t seem like they need anyone else.

Photography is a hobby for the Duchess, Hello reports. She even worked as a photographer at her parents’ party planning business several years ago. Kate, who recently stepped in front of the camera for the British Vogue cover, has been seen with a Canon DSLR while on official visits to India and Canada. These photos were taken at the family’s home, Anmer Hall in Norfolk, England.

Princess Charlotte is quite a trendsetter, so expect fashionable toddlers to follow her lead. According to People, the princess wears Amaia tights and ‘Emma’ pre-walker shoes by Early Days. The pink and blue dresses haven’t been identified yet, but expect them to fly off shelves once a designer is revealed.

In the last photo released publicly, Charlotte wore a cardigan by Pepa & Co. Founder Pepa Gonzalez told the Telegraph that tons of people wanted their toddlers to wear the same thing. “We had a huge uplift in traffic to our website following the release of the royal portraits, and we have almost sold out of this particular style from that season,” Gonzalez said. “The royals have not only created demand in England for this traditional Spanish style but around the world. I have received an order from South Korea!”
