“Designated Survivor,” which usually airs on ABC on Wednesdays at 10 p.m. EST, is off this week and will not be airing a new episode tonight.

It’s the day before Thanksgiving and ABC’s TV lineup tonight is reflecting that with a bit more festive programming than Kiefer Sutherland’s drama.

To kick things off, “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving” is airing on the network at 8 p.m. EST.

The classic animated Peanuts special follows Charlie Brown as he tries to put together a nice holiday event for his friends. Things don’t turn out so well, though, when his chefs, Snoopy and Woodstock, prepare only popcorn and toast for the meal. Marcie takes charge and tries to salvage the meal and the event for Charlie.

After the cartoon, another special bonus Peanuts program will air called “This Is America, Charlie Brown: The Mayflower Voyagers,” which aims to give a little history about the Mayflower voyagers, with Charlie Brown and his crew tagging along for the ride.

Once the animated programs are over, ABC turns to reruns of “Modern Family” and “American Housewife” at 9 p.m. and 9:31 p.m. EST, respectively.

In the 10 p.m. slot, where “Designated Survivor” normally runs, ABC is airing a special edition of “20/20” titled “Lights, Camera, Christmas! Inside Holiday Movie Classics.” The hour-long program will give viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the making of some of the most iconic holiday films and will feature interviews with Tim Allen and Eric Lloyd from “The Santa Clause,” Beverly D’Angelo and Chevy Chase from “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation,” Mel Gibson from “Daddy’s Home 2” and Brian Grazer, the producer of the live-action “How the Grinch Stole Christmas.”

When “Designated Survivor” does return to ABC with its next new episode, titled “Home,” on Nov. 29, it will follow President Kirkman (Sutherland) as he heads to Aghanistan for a secret mission. It’s while he’s there that he’ll meet with two warlords and must figure out who he can trust enough to hand over territories to the United States.

Back in the United States, Seth (Kal Penn) has a run-in with the Washington D.C. police that could end up putting his reputation, job and the future of the White House in trouble.

This upcoming new episode was written by Pat Cunnane and directed by Ian Toynton.
