‘Big Little Lies’
Will Reese Witherspoon and Shailene Woodley reprise their roles as Madelaine and Jane in “Big Little Lies” Season 2? HBO

“Big Little Lies” Season 1 is coming to an end with its upcoming seventh episode on Sunday night.

As of late, there is still no word from HBO whether or not the new hit TV series will be picked up for a second season. According to TV Line, “Big Little Lies” was introduced as a limited series which means that not only will it have a few episodes for Season 1; there won’t also be a second season.

However, because the ratings for the Nicole Kidman starrer have been impressive week in and week out, there’s hope for a possible season 2 renewal. On average, “Big Little Lies” garners seven million viewers across multiple platforms. Last week, episode 6 also became a trending topic on Twitter, and it lagged close behind AMC’s hit show, “The Walking Dead.”

“Big Little Lies” Season 1 also stars Reese Witherspoon, Alexander Skarsgard, Laura Dern, Shailene Woodley and Zoe Kravitz. The show is inspired by the book written by Lianne Moriarty. On Sunday, episode 7, titled “You Get What You Need,” could finally unveil the identity of the Monterey killer.

Meanwhile, Kidman opened up to Vogue about her character, as well as Celeste’s disturbing relationship with her husband, Perry (Skarsgard). According to the actress, one of the most challenging scenes in the TV show was when Celeste broke down while talking to her therapist.

“What is so important for her is that when she goes to seek help she doesn’t want the relationship to be destroyed, she just wants it to be fixed. She knows these things are unhealthy, but she’s not willing to delve deeper than ‘I just need some tools.’ Celeste is living in such a dangerous place,” she said.

“Big Little Lies” Season 1, episode 7 will air on HBO on April 2 at 9 p.m. EST.
