Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s love story will be chronicled in the Lifetime TV movie, “Harry & Meghan: The Royal Love Story.”

In 2011, the Hallmark Channel unveiled a film inspired by Prince William and Kate Middleton’s love story. But how similar or different will the two projects be?

Harry & Meghan: The Royal Love Story” will revolve around the couple’s courtship after being introduced to each other by their common friends, as well as their secret relationship before it became publicized by the media. The TV movie will also examine Markle’s life as a former actress, and her status as a divorcee.

Meanwhile, “William & Catherine: A Royal Romance” also focused on Prince William and Middleton’s relationship while they were still students at St. Andrew’s, as well as their breakup, reconciliation, engagement, wedding planning and more.

Both films are similar in that they both shed light on the royal couple’s relationship. But they are different in terms of themes because Markle is a divorcee, while Middleton is not. Markle also used to be an actress living the United States, while Middleton is from London so the two women’s experiences are very different from each other.

As of late, the casting for “Harry & Meghan: The Royal Love Story” is underway. Prince William was played by Dan Amboyer in the 2011 film, and Middleton was portrayed by Alice St. Clair.

Prior to the release of “William & Catherine,” Amboyer opened up about the project and said that it was their goal to explore the real side of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s relationship with each other.

St. Clair said (via Daily Herald), “There is just a really great sense of relationships within the family. So there is William’s relationship with his father and his brother, and you see him calling upon Diana’s interview, and watching this interview that Diana did and using her words to kind of guide him through his troubled moments.”

As of late, it is still unclear whether or not Princess Diana will be featured in “Harry & Meghan” because the “Horrible Bosses” star never met the late princess.
