William and Kate, UK's royal couple, are in Los Angeles and other parts of southern California.

They had a fancy private dinner on Friday, played some polo at a fancy club on Saturday, attended a fancy dinner on Saturday in Los Angeles, and will visit an Inner-City Arts School in Los Angeles on Sunday.

All this time, William and Kate will be surrounded by celebrities, rich people, and dignitaries.

Sounds like the young couple is having a great time.

However, according to official sources, that's not quite the case. William and Kate are on an official visit to the US, which means they are representing the UK and working to further her interests.

In other words, this isn't a time for fun or enjoyment, like the private visits William took to the US previously.

The royal couple's visit will focus on supporting British interest in California through the prism of their own interests, said an official spokesperson from St. James's Palace.

The couple view this as a working visit, not as an opportunity for them to meet celebrities, a palace source told People.com.

Still, judging by their Los Angeles/Southern California pictures (upper left), all this serious royal work looks kind of fun.
