The seeding for the Wimbledon is out and Rafael Nadal is seeded first in the men's tournament with Caroline Wozniacki top seed for the women's.

As expected, Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer follow Nadal with British number one Andy Murray seeded fourth.

In the women's tournament, 13-time grand slam winner Serena Williams is seeded eighth, despite being ranked 26th in the World, as she continues her comeback from the injury sustained in July last year.

Serena's sister Venus Williams, a five-time Wimbledon winner, is seeded 24th though she is ranked 33rd in the world.

First seed Wozniacki is followed by Kim Clijsters, Vera Zvonareva and French Open champion Li Na.

A Wimbledon spokesperson said, The seeding order follows the WTA ranking list, except where in the opinion of the committee, a change is necessary to produce a balanced draw.

The only changes this year are Serena Williams and Venus Williams moving to eight and 24, respectively. This reflects the balance between their proven records and also their lack of competitive play in the past 12 months.

The Wimbledon begin on 20 June and will go on for a fortnight till 3 July.
