How to Upgrade to Windows 10 Mobile

Owners of Windows Phone 8.1 devices are required to download and install the Upgrade Advisor that is available on the Windows Store. Once installed, it will check whether the phone can be upgraded to Windows 10 Mobile.

After selecting ‘Enable Windows 10 upgrade,’ the app will check for available disk space for the upgrade. It will allow users to temporarily back up their files to a location of their choice, an SD card, OneDrive or a customized location.

Next, users can navigate to Settings > Phone update to check for Windows 10 Mobile update. It will become available for installation after the OS update gets downloaded to the device. After Windows 10 Mobile is successfully installed, users can restore the backed up file easily.
