“Game of Thrones” creator and “Winds of Winter” author George R.R. Martin is set to make yet another TV appearance. The world-famous author will be appearing as the zombie version of himself in an episode of the Syfy series “Z Nation.”

“I just want to prove to my fans that even in the Zombie Apocalypse, the ‘Song of Ice and Fire’ books will still come out!,” said Martin in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. The statement is an obvious blow to all the people who have been criticizing the author for his writing pace. The next book in his series “A Song of Ice and Fire,” is titled “Winds of Winter,” and it is one of the most highly anticipated literary releases in the past couple of years.

The popularity of Martin’s novels is due in part to the massive success of “Game of Thrones,” the HBO drama series that has been based on the books. Fans are clamoring for the release of “Winds of Winter” because the show’s recently concluded 5th season, has already used up the storyline in all 5 published books.

In photos shared by Syfy, Martin could be seen as the zombie version of himself. He is seen signing and eating a copy of a book titled “A Promise of Spring.” The seventh installment of “A Song of Ice and Fire,” is believed to be titled “A Dream of Spring.”

While fans are always happy to lap up new information about the coming book and the upcoming season of “Game of Thrones,” he has often been criticized for doing too many side projects instead of finishing the book. However, fans might not have too long to wait as according to Economic Times, Martin’s Spanish editor reportedly said that the book will definitely be out in 2016 unless a meteor falls.

"Z Nation" airs every Friday at 10 pm EDT on Syfy.
