Gal Gadot first wowed audiences as the amazing Wonder Woman in Zack Snyder’s film “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.” She will have her own standalone movie next year detailing her journey from Themyscira to Earth, and the upcoming movie directed by Patty Jenkins will also reveal how she fell in love with military man Steve Trevor (Chris Pine).

For his part, Pine said it was great working with Gadot. It wasn’t difficult playing Wonder Woman’s love interest because his co-star is one talented actress.

“It was fun to fall in love with Gal Gadot,” he told The Huffington Post. “It was fun to do some comedy. It was fun to do some action. The part kind of asked for a little bit of all of it, so it was a good time.”

“I think what’s really fun and exciting about it... different about it, actually, is that there’s a nice love story at the center of an action film, and I don’t think you see that often in these kinds of films,” he added.

As for Gadot, she earlier told Sci-Fi Now that Diana Prince would be quite different from her previous portrayal in “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.” Wonder Woman seems like an accomplished superhero in Snyder's film, but Gadot said something happened over a hundred years ago that made her character not want to be involved in a man's world.

“She is very different to the Diana that you see in [Dawn of Justice]. She is more naïve and she’s purer. She is a young idealist who does not yet understand the complexities of life,” she said.

In the standalone film, Wonder Woman and Steve will come face to face with a villain played by Elena Anaya. The Spanish actress told Sensa Cine that her villain would be “a big nightmare for the two of them.”

“Wonder Woman” will be released on June 2, 2017.
