Hate being late? Then you might want to avoid these airlines. The following 16 airlines were measured using data from more than 3.3 million flights in the first seven months of 2013. More than 2 million flights were on time, but around 47,000 were canceled in that period.
So here are the carriers to avoid, if punctuality matters to you:
Sample size is the number of flights for which FlightStats was able to capture arrival data. For most airlines sample size exceeded 90 percent of all flights. A flight is considered on time if it arrives at the gate within 15 minutes of the scheduled gate time. Cancellations were subtracted from the sample size before on-time percentages were calculated. Only airlines with a sample size of at least 100,000 flights were included.
