They both have difficult memories of the past and the mother who left them, and now, Jack and Ashley will be left stunned when Dina not only arrives back in Genoa City, but reveals her reasons for returning on national television on the Wednesday, May 17 episode of “The Young And The Restless.”

Ashley (Eileen Davidson) was stunned when she went home to see none other than Dina (Marla Adams) standing in her living room and telling her she wanted to catch up after several years away on the CBS soap. However, Ashley quickly turned her mother away, still hurt over her not only lying about who her real father was her entire childhood, but also because Dina didn’t bother coming back for John’s funeral. Dina’s reunion with Jack (Peter Bergmann) at the club also didn’t go over too well, as he was so stunned to see her that she simply told him she’d catch up with him another day.

Now, the siblings have reconvened over their unexpected surprise sightings of their mother, and are unsure of how to handle things. Though he too has been hurt by Dina’s actions in the past, Jack has admitted to being amenable to giving Dina a chance, but Ashley will be livid that her brother seems to think the woman who abandoned them is worth letting back into their lives. The two will continue to argue over how to handle the situation when they are alerted to the fact that Dina is now appearing on GC Buzz, and they won’t be able to help themselves and will tune in to watch.

“Dina Mergeron, a renowned figure of the International Business Community, is here to make a stunning announcement,” Mariah (Camryn Grimes) announces in a preview clip.

While Dina’s appearance will be mainly so she can promote the fact that she has sold Mergeron Enterprises to Devon (Bryton James) and Neil’s (Kristoff St. John) company Hamilton-Winters, she will also blindside her children when she announces her reason for why she’s done so. Dina will announce to the world that she made the decision to put her company up for sale because she wants to be able to spend more time with her family and rebuild the relationships she has lost with them over the years. Hearing this news will be stunning for both Ashley and Jack, since they are both cautious when it comes to their mother—and are still leaning in different directions when it comes to whether or not they’ll consider letting her back into their lives at all.
