Z Nation
"Z Nation" Season 2, episode 7 will see Operation Bite Mark battle zombies, con artists and the cartel as they attempt to cross the Mississippi to get to California faster. Syfy

Syfy’s “Z Nation” aired one of its more emotionally heavy episodes last week, in which Operation Bite Mark lost one of its members and the power dynamic shifted because of it. Now, it seems the series will make up for the low stakes of episode 6 with an action packed boating romp in episode 7, “Down the Mississippi.”

As if having to [SPOILER ALERT] finally kill Cassandra (Pisay Pao) didn’t already make things bad for everyone’s favorite sniper, 10K (Nat Zang), it seems that episode 7 will continue to pile on the young survivor as he gets separated from the rest of the group to a fate of battling zombies, bandits and Escorpion’s (Emilio Rivera) infamous Zeros. Luckily, he may not be on his own as the episode’s official TV Guide synopsis promises the return of two Season 1 characters.

“A boating accident splits the group up as they are trying to cross the Mississippi; and 10K gets mixed up in Sketchy and Skeezy’s latest scam, which leads to a frightening run-in with Escorpion.”

For those that may not be as well versed in the roster of secondary characters on “Z Nation,” Sketchy (Mark Carr) and Skeezy (Doug Dawson) first appeared in the pilot episode selling weapons to our intrepid group of survivors before they met Murphy (Keith Allan) and took on the task of escorting the only hope for humanity to California. The duo showed up again as hosts of a zombie-themed gun show later in the season, but were separated from the rest of the group when the shooting competition was overrun. Now it seems like they’re back and mixed up with something pretty strange once again.

It’s unclear from the synopsis what exactly their latest scam is, but odds are good it may have something to do with the mysterious dentist’s truck that appears in a preview clip for the upcoming episode. The teaser, which can be found on the Syfy website, shows two survivors walking on a deserted road when they’re approached by a van with two “dentists” offering to clean their teeth for free. When they get just loopy enough on their laughing gas, the men turn on the survivors and stick them in the back of their truck for a yet to be determined nefarious purpose.

With Operation Bite Mark going after its most beloved member, Sketchy and Skeezy hatching another ridiculous con and the Zeros running around in the area, odds are good this will be one of the most action-packed episodes of “Z Nation” to date. Fans will have to tune in to Syfy at 10:00 p.m. EDT on Friday to see how it all plays out for 10K and Operation Bite Mark.
