Don Buckhannan proves you don’t have to be a kid to enjoy your Christmas present. The Alabama father couldn’t contain his excitement over his surprise gift: tickets to the Alabama vs. Notre Dame 2013 BCS National Championship.

A YouTube video of Buckhannan, titled “Dad’s Reaction To Getting A Ticket To The Game” and uploaded by his son, Daniel Buckhannan, has gone viral with more than 2 million views as of Wednesday afternoon. You can view the video above.

ESPN business reporter Darren Rovell was the first to identify Don Buckhannan and tweeted that the Alabama dad lives in the town of Oxford.

Buckhannan was smiling and giddy even before he received the surprise gift. The Alabama dad was a kid on Christmas when he found out he got a hat.

Buckhannan's Christmas cheer abounded when his son gave him the tickets, with Daniel exclaiming, “We’re going to the game, pop! We’re going to the game!”

The Alabama father’s first words after receiving the gift were, “No Alice?” an apparent reference to whether his wife would be accompanying him to the BCS title game between the Crimson Tide and Fighting Irish.

“No, just me and you,” Daniel Buckhannan responds.

“Oh my goodness!” Don Buckhannan says, quipping, “I hope these are good seats.”

“Well, let me just say they’re in the stadium,” his son notes.

“Holy moly!” the giddy Buckhannan says as he can’t contain his excitement. “Holy smoke! Thanks!”

An obvious die-hard Crimson Tide fan, Buckhannan lives about a two-hour drive from Tuscaloosa, home of the University of Alabama. It’s unclear whether he’s ever been to an Alabama game.

The 2013 BCS National Championship between the undefeated and No. 1 ranked Notre Dame and the No. 2 ranked Crimson Tide will be played Jan. 6 at Sun Life Stadium in Miami Gardens, Fla.

Tickets for the game are in high demand, making Buckhannan’s surprise Christmas gift a real coup.

At the ticket marketplace website, tickets for the 2013 BCS National Championship start at more than $1,000. The highest-priced ticket for the game costs a cool $299,999.
