Amazon introduced new kid Fire tablets Wednesday, lowered prices for Amazon Fire devices and announced it is bringing Alexa to U.K. Fire tablet users.

Amazon Fire 7 Tablet: Release Date, Features, Price

The company Wednesday introduced the Amazon Fire 7, a thinner and lighter model with a 7-inch display that has better clarity. The tablet features a battery life of up to eight hours, 8 GB of storage with support for an expandable capacity of 256 GB and Wi-Fi connection. It is available in four colors and comes with Amazon’s virtual assistant Alexa. The durable tablet, compared to the latest iPad, comes with front and rear-facing cameras. The Fire 7 is priced at $49.99, much cheaper than other tablets on the market, like the iPad Mini and the Samsung Tab S3. The Fire 7 will be released June 7 is now available for preorder.

Amazon Fire HD 8: Release Date, Price, Features

Amazon also released the Fire HD 8 for $79.99. The device comes with an 8-inch HD display, a quad processor, 12 hours of battery life, 16 GB storage with support for an extra 256 GB, comes with front and rear-facing cameras and Alexa. The tablet, which is available in four colors, will also be released on June 7 and is currently available for preorder.

The price of the Fire HD 8 tablet is lower than the previous HD 8, which cost $89.99.

“We think customers should expect more from their tablet — better hardware, more features, access to tons of great content — but shouldn’t have to pay a premium for it,” Kevin Keith, Amazon’s general manager for Fire Tablets, said in a statement. “Our approach is to offer premium products at nonpremium prices.

Amazon also released products for children. The company introduced the Fire 7 Kids Edition, priced at $99.99. The 7-inch display tablet comes with a 16 GB storage, 8 hours of battery life, a kid-proof case and one year of Amazon FreeTime Unlimited, which is the company’s subscription service for kids that gives unlimited access to thousands of books, videos, educational apps and games. The tablet, which is available in three colors, will release June 7 and is available for pre-order now. The tablet comes with a two-year warranty.

“If they break it, send it back and we’ll replace it,” Amazon said. “No questions asked.”

Fire HD 8 Kids Edition: Price, Release Date, Features

The second tablet for kids is the Fire HD 8 Kids Edition, priced at $129.99. The 8-inch HD display tablet comes with 32 GB of storage, 12-hour battery life, a kid proof case, two-year worry-free guarantee and a year of Amazon FreeTime Unlimited. The tablet is now available for preorder and will release next month.

Amazon is offering a deal for those who purchase any of the three new Fire tablets. Customers will get 20 percent when adding one of the tablets to their shopping carts using the promo code FIRE3PACK.

Amazon also announced it’s bringing Alexa to the U.K. on new tablets and as an update for current users in the coming weeks. Alexa was introduced on Amazon tablets in the U.S. last year.
