About

Chip Bergh currently serves as the president and CEO of Levi Strauss & Co., a position he’s held since September 2011. As the company’s leader, he is best known for shifting it into a culture company from a clothing company and putting the brand back on the map after years of steady decline in revenue.

When he took the role of CEO for the iconic brand, he knew that it would be no easy task. In order to spur growth, he had to reconnect the brand with its consumers as one of the first steps, leading to Bergh himself instituting in-home visits with customers to hear directly from them.

He has received honors and recognition for his work, including Most Admired CEOs in the Francisco Bay Area by Business Times in 2016 and oWorld’s Greatest Leaders by Fortune Magazine in 2016.

Prior to his work at Levi’s, he held several positions in Procter & Gamble Company, which is where he became the first P&G employee assigned to the Gillette business, following the $57B acquisition in 2005. He is also a non-executive chairman of the board of HP Inc. (HPQ), the market-leading printing and personal systems company, and has previously served on the board of directors for VF Corporation and the Economic Development Board of Singapore.

He graduated from Lafayette College and resides in San Francisco, California.
