Craig Menear

Craig Menear currently serves as CEO and president of The Home Depot, Inc., a U.S.-based company operating as the largest home improvement retailer across the nation. He has managed to position it at extreme profitability, as it now has more than 2,200 stores and 400,000 associates.

He started working for it back in 1997 – and he slowly worked his way to the top. Come 2007, he gained the title of vice president of merchandising, and in 2014, he became CEO, a position he has held since. He has also been serving as chairman of the board since 2015.

Keeping the company’s customer-centric approach and successfully creating an interconnected shopping experience, The Home Depot saw amazing stock records, earning the business executive the nickname “Darling of Wall Street.” In 2017, he landed the 29th spot on Chief Executive and RHR International's CEO1000 Tracker and was awarded with MSU’s Distinguished Alumni Award.

He has worked in other retail companies, including IKEA, Builders Emporium and the now-defunct Montgomery Ward. Currently, he is among the board of directors of the Retail Industry Leaders Association, Camp Southern Ground, Atlanta Committee for Progress and 3DE by Junior Achievement of Georgia. He’s also a donor for Michigan State University, where he received his bachelor’s degree in business.

He lives near the The Home Depot headquarters in Atlanta with his wife and two daughters.
