Doug McMillon

Doug McMillon currently serves as the president and CEO of Walmart, leading the company’s 11,500 stores and 2.2 million associates located in 26 countries. Having started in the nation’s largest retailer as a teenage summer associate for an hourly wage, he is now the youngest CEO to lead the company since founder Sam Walton.

Since taking over the helm in 2014, McMillon raised the wages for hourly workers, revised the paid time-off program and offered free basic short-term disability for full-time workers. It was also under his leadership that Walmart’s commitment to e-commerce was made, leading to the company investing $1B in its online operations. 

He has received recognition for his works, ranking No. 29, No. 32, No. 27 in the Forbes list of World's Most Powerful People in 2014, 2015 and 2016, respectively. He also ranked fourth on ExecRanks’ 2015 list of top CEOs for large companies.

Recently, Business Roundtable, an association of chief executive officers from America’s leading companies, named McMillon as a chairman. He also serves on the boards of directors of the Consumer Goods Forum, the U.S.-China Business Council and Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art.

McMillon graduated from the University of Arkansas and received his MBA from the University of Tulsa. He lives in Bentonville, Arkansas with his wife and two children.
