Being loaded at the shortstop position, the Milwaukee Brewers are expected to potentially entertain offers for shortstop Jean Segura. “There have been reports that the Brewers told teams they wouldn't trade Segura, which aren't true. They certainly won't rush to move him, but shortstop is the position of biggest strength in the organization, with top prospect Orlando Arcia destined to be the starter in the not-so-distant future,” Tom Haudricort of the Milwaukee-Wisconsin Journal Sentinel claimed.

The 25-year-old Segura, who has a salary of just over $500,000 this season, is signed through 2018 by the Brewers and would need arbitration before he can hit free agency.

Other shortstops on the Brewers roster are Hector Gomez and Luis Sardinas. According to the same article, Milwaukee may also move the 27-year-old Gomez “if the right deal comes along.”

In 61 games and 239 at-bats in the 2015 season, Segura is hitting .259 with 21 RBIs and 3 home runs. The Brewers are last in the Central Division of the National League with a 29-48 win-loss record.
