The Kansas City Chiefs appear to have chosen the perfect time for most of their injured players to get healthy. The team’s full injury report from the week leading up to Sunday’s AFC Championship Game against the New England Patriots is available, and it looks like the team will get some star players back in the mix for their biggest test of the season.

The most striking thing on the injury report is that Eric Berry was a full participant in practice three days in a row. The star safety missed 15 games in 2017 and 14 games in 2018, as well as the team’s divisional round win over the Indianapolis Colts.

All signs point to Berry playing. NFL insider Ian Rapoport reported as much on Friday.

This is not a huge surprise, as the team waived veteran safety Ron Parker earlier this week in order to make a roster spot for guard Laurent Duvernay-Tardif. Getting rid of Parker raised speculation that the Chiefs were optimistic about Berry playing against the Patriots, and it seems that speculation was correct.

The last time Berry was active against the Patriots, he held tight end Rob Gronkowski to two catches for 33 yards.

Every single other Chiefs player except for rookie linebacker Dorian O’Daniel was a full participant in practice by the end of the week. That means Duvernay-Tardif and running back Spencer Ware are also both expected to play. Duvernay-Tardif was a starting guard before his injury in Week 5, while Ware was the starter after Kareem Hunt was released.

Given the success Damien Williams has had as the starting running back, it will be worth watching how many snaps Ware gets in the backfield on Sunday.
