The college football season is in full swing and entering Week 5 there have been very few surprises as to who are the top teams in the nation. Alabama was the preseason No. 1 and remain the top team in the nation as well as the clear favorite to win another national championship.

According to oddsmakers, the Crimson Tide have even odds to win the national championship. Prior to the start of the season, the defending champions had 11/5 odds and were followed by Clemson (4/1), Ohio State (8/1) and Georgia (8/1).

Clemson, who staved off Syracuse on Saturday, entered Week 5 with 9/2 odds to win the national championship. The Tigers were followed by Ohio State (5/1) and Georgia (7/1).

After Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State and Georgia, the field gets a lot thinner.

Notre Dame, currently ranked No. 8 ahead of their meeting with No.7 Stanford on Saturday night, have 16/1 odds. The Cardinal have just 33/1 odds.

Two elite SEC schools remain longshots. The No. 5 LSU Tigers and the No. 10 Auburn Tigers have 25/1 and 33/1 odds, respectively.

The No. 6 Oklahoma Sooners have 16/1 odds.

The Washington Huskies have the best odds out of the Pac-12 at 20/1.

There are currently 14 teams in the Top 25 with an undefeated record.

The 2018 College Football playoff featured Clemson, Oklahoma, Georgia and Alabama. Alabama, the fourth seed, defeated No. 1 seed Clemson, 24-6. No. 3-seed Georgia edged No. 2 Oklahoma, 54-48, in double overtime.

In the national championship, Alabama defeated Georgia in overtime, 26-23.
