Saturday’s NFC wild card matchup features two teams that play similar brands of football. The Seattle Seahawks will travel all the way to Texas to take on the Dallas Cowboys in a battle between two teams that looked dead in the water at midseason, but relied on strong rushing attacks and stout defenses to get to the playoffs.

The Cowboys are slight home favorites, but the Seahawks have the advantage of experience. Though much of the roster that won Super Bowl XLVIII is gone, head coach Pete Carroll and veteran quarterback Russell Wilson have both seen plenty of postseason success before.

Cowboys coach Jason Garrett and quarterback Dak Prescott, meanwhile, have yet to accomplish much in January and beyond.

Still, the case for a Cowboys victory is clear. Dallas is excellent at stopping the run, which is what the Seahawks like to do on offense. Seattle was dead last in the NFL in passing attempts this season.

The Seahawks’ defense has improved over time, but still hovers around the league average against the run and the pass. Both teams finished in the top 10 in rushing attempts and in the bottom 10 of passing attempts.

The Seahawks won the regular season matchup 24-13, but that was in Seattle and all the way back in Week 3. Since then, the Cowboys have added standout receiver Amari Cooper and the Seahawks have lost star safety Earl Thomas.

If Wilson and Prescott both play efficiently, as they have for much of the season, this one will likely go down to the wire.
