  • Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are known to be the biggest stars in football today
  • One of Messi's trusted teammates Jordi Alba has reportedly drawn interest from several teams including Juventus
  • Juventus is searching for a formidable left-back as Alba fits the role well

Amidst the unpredictability of the season due to the world’s current situation, rumors are still busy circulating around. One speculated bit of news is how Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly has his eyes on Jordi Alba to join Juventus.

There is no doubt that Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are the two biggest stars in the world. Their rivalry has been heavily documented on the field as the two football icons have changed the world. Throughout their intense bouts against each other, a constant figure that has seen the rivalry firsthand is Messi’s good friend Alba.

The link of Alba making his way to Juventus comes at how they are unlikely to secure the services of their left-back Alex Sandro. As reported by the Daily Mail, Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur has already been connected with Sandro.

This opens the opportunity for Juventus to search for another formidable left-back for their club. As reported by Everything Barca, Ronaldo has requested Alba as a possible option. This gives Juventus an advantage, as Alba is an incredible defender who is also considered one of the best attacking left-backs in the world.

It’s a possible option to tease but the connection of Messi and Alba is just too good to be broken apart. The chemistry between the two is one of the reasons why Barcelona is one of the more successful clubs in the world today. While anything can happen, it will come at a big price to have someone like Alba leave Barca given that he’s been an integral part of the team.

Since 2012, Alba has been one of the staple names for the organization as he’s had more than 214 La Liga appearances with the club. In these moments he has tallied a total of 43 assists in his stint with the team in more than 17,000 minutes played.

It will be interesting to see what will happen in these rumored negotiations and how these deals will pan out in the near future. For now, the world will have to wait and see how the games will resume and how the storied matchup of Ronaldo and Messi will continue.
