Expectations are usually high for the Dallas Cowboys, and the 2022 NFL season is no different. Coming off a divisional title, "America's Team" is projected to win double-digit games and make the playoffs.

The Cowboys are not among the Super Bowl favorites, but they are considered to be a legitimate championship contender in the 2022 season. Dallas had the NFL's No. 1 ranked offense a season ago, leading all teams in total yards and points. The Cowboys went 12-5 before losing to the San Francisco 49ers in the wild-card round of the playoffs in disappointing fashion.

Mike McCarthy's high-powered offense was limited to 17 points in the playoff loss. The unit faces serious questions in 2022. The receiving corps is a particular concern.

Amari Cooper and Cedrick Wilson Jr. went elsewhere in the offseason, while Michael Gallup could be out for several weeks as he continues to recover from a torn ACL. Free-agent acquisition James Washington might be sidelined until October.

A lot of weight will be on the shoulders of quarterback Dak Prescott and No. 1 receiver CeeDee Lamb. Running back Ezekiel Elliott hopes to have a bounce-back season after playing last year with a knee injury.

Cornerback Trevon Diggs was a 2021 First-Team All-Pro selection in his second NFL season. The 23-year-old led all players with 11 interceptions. Diggs helped the Cowboys lead the league in takeaways, which Dallas will be hard-pressed to repeat in 2022.

Dallas ranked seventh in scoring defense but 19th in opponents' yards per play last season.

McCarthy has received plenty of criticism in his first two years with the Cowboys. Can he get his help deliver Dallas' first playoff win in four years?

Here's a look at the Cowboy's odds for the 2022 NFL season. Dallas' betting odds come from FanDuel Sportsbook.

Over/Under Win Total

The Cowboys' 2022 regular-season win total is 10.5. Over 10.5 wins has +105 odds, and under 10.5 wins comes with -130 odds. Dallas went 12-5 last season

The odds suggest that Dallas will finish under its season win total. As long as Prescott remains healthy, the Cowboys should be threatening to win 11 games, at the very least, down the stretch of the season. Prescott has a career 53-32 record as Dallas' starter, and he's never posted a losing record for a season during which he made more than five starts.

Playoff Odds

The Cowboys have -260 odds to make the playoffs and +205 odds to miss the postseason. Dallas is favored to win the NFC East with +135 odds.

Dallas had no trouble winning the division in 2021, finishing three games ahead of the second-place Philadelphia Eagles. Winning the division for a second year in a row would require the Cowboys to break a nearly two-decade-long trend. Since 2005, no NFC East champion has successfully repeated the following season.

Super Bowl Odds

The Cowboys have +2000 odds to win Super Bowl LVII on Feb. 12, 2023. Eight NFL teams are given a better chance than Dallas to win the Super Bowl. The Cowboys rank fifth among NFC teams. Dallas has +850 odds to win the conference.

One of the NFL's most storied franchises is stuck in a lengthy championship drought. Since the Cowboys won Super Bowl XXX in the 1995 season, Dallas hasn't been back to the NFC Championship Game.
