Convenience store and gas company Sheetz announced Monday it will offer its Unleaded 88 gas at $1.99 a gallon for a limited time for the holidays. The promotion starts Monday and will run until Nov. 28.

Sheetz has about 600 locations in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, Ohio and North Carolina. The offer will be available at 368 of the Sheetz locations.

"Sheetz is a family owned and operated company and at the heart of everything we do is giving back to our customers and the communities we reside in," Travis Sheetz, President and CEO of Sheetz, said in a press release.

"We hope this price reduction provides much-needed relief at the pump for our customers as they travel for the Thanksgiving holiday."

Customers can check if their local Sheetz is participating in the promotion on the company's website or app.

Sheetz's offer is almost half the price of gas. The national average gas price is currently at $3.66 per gallon, according to tracking from American Automobile Association.

Unleaded 88 gasoline is said to run the same with no difference in mileage as 87 or other types of gasoline. It just has more ethanol in it.

"Unleaded 88 is a blend of 15% ethanol and 85% gasoline that burns cleaner and has higher octane that's better for your engine, environment, and wallet. It's approved for all cars 2001 and newer and American drivers have already logged nearly 20 billion miles on it," Unleaded 88 said on its website.
