Eagles vs. Saints 2019: TV Channel, Betting Odds And Expert Predictions For NFC Playoff Game

When the New Orleans Saints thrashed the Philadelphia Eagles 48-7 in November, it was difficult to imagine a rematch coming in the playoffs two months later. However, that game arguably turned around Philly’s season, as the Eagles have only lost one game since then.

The Eagles are in New Orleans for a showdown with the top-seeded Saints. The defending champs will face a tough challenge if they want to repeat, as the Saints have not lost a home playoff game in the Sean Payton era. As such, oddsmakers have the Saints as heavy favorites heading into the game.

Philadelphia will need another strong performance from backup quarterback Nick Foles to pull off the upset. Foles became the starter again after Carson Wentz went out with a back injury and guided the Eagles to three straight wins to finish out the regular season. He then engineered a game-winning drive against a strong Chicago Bears defense in the wild card round to pull off the road upset.

Since Wentz went out, Foles has thrown for 1,228 yards, eight touchdowns and five interceptions.

Injuries could be the difference in this game, and both teams are banged up heading into the contest. Several Saints offensive lineman were limited in practice at some point this week, though all of them were able to fully participate by the end of the week. Key Eagles players like Michael Bennett and Jason Peters are questionable.

If Drew Brees can keep up his MVP-like season and the Saints defense can play well, it might simply be too much for the Eagles.
