The free games list for PlayStation Plus subscribers this January has been revealed, rounding up the year for some of 2021’s best releases.

Sony has announced the three new PS Plus games for January 2022 in a recent post on the PS Blog. As usual, PlayStation owners with an active PS Plus subscription will be able to claim these games until early February, so be sure to grab them as soon as possible.

Here’s a closer look at the free games coming next month.

“Persona 5 Strikers” (PS4)

Serving as the direct sequel to 2016’s wildly successful “Persona 5,” “Strikers” continues the story of the Phantom Thieves as they try to deal with a new string of Metaverse-related incidents sprouting all across Japan.

The game combines the hack-and-slash horde battles seen in Koei Tecmo’s “Dynasty Warriors” series with the intricate rock-paper-scissor style combat and flamboyant flair of “Persona 5.” Embark on one more adventure with some familiar faces and a few new ones as the Phantom Thieves steal everyone’s hearts once again.

“DiRT 5” (PS5/PS4)

For fans of off-road racing, “DiRT 5” offers one of the best simcade-style racing experiences modern gaming has to offer. Compete in high-octane rallies across various locations and different racing disciplines like ice racing, rallycross and more.

Enjoy some classic couch parties with friends with a 4-player split-screen or drive against the best players around the world in online matches.

“Deep Rock Galactic” (PS5/PS4)

Get ready to mine like there’s no tomorrow in the console version of Coffee Stain’s hit 4-player co-op game “Deep Rock Galactic.”

Descend into deep, dark and dank caverns to fulfill mining operations as one of four space dwarves armed to the teeth with high-powered weapons and mining equipment. Fend off hordes of giant bugs and the forces of rival corporations while completing objectives and hopefully get out alive.

With randomly-generated maps, a solid progression system and the sheer unpredictability and chaos of playing with friends, “Deep Rock Galactic” is one of the best cooperative experiences gamers can have.

Rock and stone forever, dwarves.
