Kenyan Central Bank Leaves Rates Unchanged
Kenya's central bank left its benchmark interest rate unchanged at 6.25 percent on Wednesday, saying any further tightening of monetary policy would be counter-productive.
Nine out of 12 analysts and traders polled by Reuters expected the bank to raise its Central Bank Rate (CBR). Three saw no change, one predicted a 75 basis point rise and the others forecast increases of 25 or 50 basis points. The median forecast came in at 37.5 basis points.
