Klopp Handed New Injury Scare After Mane, Henderson Setbacks Ahead Of Liverpool Vs Arsenal: Reports
KEY POINTS
- Liverpool have lost one league game this season
- They are set to host Arsenal in the league Saturday
- Klopp is without quite a few players due to injuries
Jurgen Klopp has reportedly been handed a new injury scare ahead of Liverpool's Premier League clash with Arsenal on Saturday.
Scottish defender Andy Robertson limped off the field while on national duty Monday when Scotland took on Denmark in a World Cup qualifier fixture. Steve Clarke's Scotland bagged a 2-0 victory at Hampden Park and booked a place in the World Cup play-off semi-finals.
The Scotland skipper, Robertson, fell to the turf on the 79th minute and was unable to complete the full 90 minutes due to what appeared to be a hamstring issue, according to media outlet Sportsmole. The left-back was soon attended by Scotland's physios before he was replaced by Nottingham Forest star Scott McKenna.
Liverpool have suffered three injuries in the underway international break. Sadio Mane and Jordan Henderson also sustained injuries while playing for Senegal and England respectively last week.
Hamstring injuries have become common in the Liverpool camp in the 2021-22 campaign, with a series of Reds players, including Roberto Firmino, Naby Keita, Jordan Henderson and James Milner, currently receiving treatment for the same problem.
Andy Robertson came off injured tonight for Scotland with what looked like a hamstring injury.

Even though Robertson's unavailability for the Arsenal game Sunday would be a major setback for Klopp, Greek left-back Kostas Tsimikas has proved to be an able deputy when he was called upon this season.

Midfielder Curtis Jones is also a doubt for the home clash with Arsenal after getting scratched in the eye during training, according to Mirror.
Just ahead of the international break, Liverpool suffered their maiden loss of the 2021-22 campaign. Klopp's side were beaten 3-2 by West Ham at the London Stadium in the Premier League and as a result, the Reds dropped to fourth place in the Premier League table. With six wins, four draws and a loss, Liverpool have 22 points, four less than table-toppers Chelsea.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are yet to lose a game in the UEFA Champions League and have already sealed a place in the Round of 16 with two games in hand in the group stage.
