A man in the Indian state of Karnataka died after he was hit by several vehicles on a highway over the weekend, according to reports.

Roadwork employees noticed the man's body at around 5 a.m. that day, according to traffic police in the nearby town of Ramanagara.

All of the victim's body parts, except for his right hand, reportedly were crushed and left disfigured at the site.

The man was beyond recognition, and doctors who conducted a postmortem were only able to determine that he was between the age of 35 and 40.

Authorities proceeded to bury the victim Saturday as his body could not be preserved.

His fingerprints were collected, while tooth, hair and a femur bone were also taken from him for identification purposes.

Traffic police have contacted their counterparts across the state of Karnataka to identify the victim with the help of missing persons' data.

In a similar story, a man in New Jersey used his car to run over and kill his girlfriend's ex-partner around two weeks ago.

Marvin L. Tyler, of Sayreville, has been charged with aggravated manslaughter and two weapons offenses over the Nov. 29 incident that resulted in the death of Jason Freeman.

Tyler was picking up his girlfriend from work that day using the latter's car when he encountered Freeman, his girlfriend's former partner, in the parking lot of medical offices located along Perrine Road, NJ.com reported.

The two got into an argument about Tyler's girlfriend, who accused Freeman in a report submitted to Sayreville police of harassing her.

Freeman questioned Tyler, entered the car to remove the vehicle's paperwork and took a new iPhone that was sealed in a box, investigators were told.

They both had a tussle over the phone before Freeman showed a knife and started to walk back to his vehicle with the iPhone.

Freeman attempted to slash the tires on Tyler's vehicle, the latter alleged.

Tyler then struck Freeman multiple times with the car before driving off, an affidavit showed.

Freeman, 36, of Middletown, was pronounced dead at around 5:05 p.m. outside the medical offices, police said.

Old Bridge police found a knife, the iPhone and his ex-girlfriend's vehicle's documents in Freeman's vehicle.

Tyler turned himself in at the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office, and he was arrested and charged.
