  • Marcos Rojo is speculated to stay with his childhood club Estudiantes
  • Manchester United is currently developing young stars that can help them in the long term
  • Ole Gunnar Solskjaer shares that he doesn't see Rojo suiting up for the club anytime soon

The improved chemistry of Manchester United has led to much success with the way the young talents and stars have stepped up. Unfortunately, not all players are inclined to stay with the club such as the case for returnee Marcos Rojo.

The 30-year-old Rojo entered Manchester United as a young developing star that was dreaming of a strong career with the Red Devils. While he’s shown flashes of brilliance throughout his career, there were moments of inconsistencies on the field and locker room altercations amongst teammates.

In recent months, Rojo has spent his time on loan to his former club the Estudiantes de La Plata. During this stint, he showed up for 54 appearances and even tallied four goals and two assists. Per Red Devil Armada, the defender is now inclined to stay at Estudiantes for a longer-term. Offloading Rojo would mean more space for Manchester United to move around to make for new incoming talent.

To add to this, Rojo playing for Manchester United is deemed unlikely says Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Per Manchester United’s website, Solskjaer explained the situation regarding Rojo amidst the current global pandemic.

“Marcos has been in lockdown over there [in La Plata], so they've not played either,” Solskjaer said.

“At the moment, I can't see him coming back here over the summer, obviously because we live in this bubble, and we've got this squad available until next season,” Solskjaer added.

The way Manchester United has performed in recent months has been noteworthy. There has been a resurgence in their chemistry with how the star duo of Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba has led the team. The Red Devils have also improved in terms of their cohesiveness as a team. Young stars such as Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood have been the recipients of bigger roles this season with the way they’ve stepped up on the field.

“So he just needs to focus on getting fit and staying fit and being ready for wherever that takes him,” Solskjaer concluded about Rojo.

It will be interesting to see how Manchester United adjusts its lineup for the coming years and how Rojo will fare moving forward.
