Arguably the four best quarterbacks in the NFL will compete in a highly anticipated sporting event well before the start of the 2022 season. Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers are set to team up against Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen in the next edition of "The Match."

The exhibition golf event is scheduled for June 1 at the Wynn Las Vegas. The previous five editions of The Match all featured at least one member of the PGA Tour, but no professional golfers will take part in the upcoming event.

Brady, Rodgers, Mahomes and Allen will compete in a 12-hole challenge. The two-on-two tournament will be broadcast live on TNT.

It marks Brady’s third appearance in The Match. Brady and Phil Mickelson were defeated by Tiger Woods and Peyton Manning in "The Match II" on May 24, 2020. In "The Match IV," Rodgers and Bryson DeChambeau defeated the team of Woods and Brady for the Green Bay Packers quarterback’s only appearance in the golf event.

Mahomes and Allen will be competing in The Match for the first time. Both pairs of teammates have been on-field rivals in the last couple of NFL seasons.

Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defeated Rodgers and the Packers in the 2020 NFC Championship Game. Rodgers won last season’s NFL MVP award, while Brady came in second place.

Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs have eliminated Allen and the Buffalo Bills from the playoffs in two straight seasons. A year after Kansas City beat Buffalo in the 2020 AFC Championship Game, the Chiefs outlasted the Bills in one of the greatest playoff games ever. Mahomes’ 378 passing yards and four total touchdowns were just enough to overcome Allen’s 329 yards and four touchdowns in a 42-36 Chiefs’ overtime victory.

The most recent version of The Match saw Brooks Koepka defeat DeChambeau on Nov. 26.
