Mike Tyson admitted that he still wants to be the best but doesn’t want to hear about his legacy anymore.

Tyson has been widely regarded as one of the greatest boxers of all time. However, things did not go well for Tyson during the peak of his career. Despite losing a lot of money and falling down badly in his career, “Iron” Mike managed to get back on his feet.

In fact, in a recent interview with ESPN, Tyson revealed that he has been doing good thus far in business and he’s planning to create the first ever “fan-controlled” football league. According to Tyson, the players will be getting advice from fans and use those advice to make plays work.

“We’re gonna get advice from the fans, and we’re gonna use and make some of the plays that the fans say,” Tyson explained.

In the same interview, Tyson was asked about his plans for the said football league. To everybody’s surprise, Tyson admitted that he still wants to “be the best.” The former world heavyweight boxing champ even said that his ego probably is to “compete with the best.”

“I wanna have the best team in the league. It’s my whole objective in life. I don’t know, like I said, my ego again, is probably to compete and be the best, to believe that I’m the best, to be the best, to want to be the best and to the best in the world,” Tyson admitted.

However, in one of the most recent episodes of his podcast “Hot Boxin’ with Mike Tyson,” Tyson shifted mood after hearing a story about his legacy. Rapper Jim Jones, who was his guest in the episode, shared a story which happened during Tyson’s prime. The talk started just fine until Tyson shifted mood and cut Jones to say that he is happy that those days are finally over.

Below is how the conversation went down.

Jones: I was like 16, this might have had to been like ’94, ’95,

Tyson: ’95 ya I was locked up then. ’95 I came home.

Jones: You was in there with a silk shirt on. Half button down with the biggest diamond bracelet I’ve ever seen in my life. But you wasn’t with nobody. You was walkin through that s—t by yourself and the whole tunnel was partin’ like the Red Sea. It was like the movies. N---as did not want no sauce with Mike, n---as act like, “Whoa there go Mike.”

Tyson: Listen, I used to live a really dark like back and s—t. I’m just so happy that it’s over.

Jones: You was lookin good men. I’m just tellin you from a young kid’s perspective watchin a real superhero walk through the crowd. That was real inspiring.

Tyson: Thank you brotha.
